Jean, Beth's second set of eyes

Jean and her husband Mike have lived on the Magothy River for 30 years. They share a love of nature, commitment to peace and social justice, and membership in the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). They have been trained by a series of Labrador Retrievers.

Jean is a clinical social worker in a children’s rehabilitation hospital where she works on an interdisciplinary team, counsels families and coordinates field instruction for social work graduate students. She is sustained by close friendships, family ties, laughter, silent retreats, yoga, cooking, gardening and a subscription to Baltimore Symphony Orchestra concerts.

Beth’s creations have prompted Jean to rediscover her artistic self. The poster project has been irresistible. With friend and teacher Beth just up the lane, Jean can play, build community, develop new talents and contribute to the worthiest of causes.
